Tree Planting Trip

On Thursday, 21st November, a dedicated group of students from Leyh House took part in a rewarding volunteer activity at Middleton Wood Meadow. House Representatives, House Deputies and House Captains teamed up with The Parks Trust to support the conservation efforts in the local area.

This was the second time Leyh House has worked on this beautiful piece of land with The Parks Trust. A total of 11 students from across year groups participated in the event, where they spent the day planting gorse bushes and Sea Buckthorn to help enhance the local wildlife habitat. The students worked incredibly hard, braving the chilly weather, and in just an hour and a half they planted over 40 trees making a significant contribution to the meadow’s development.

For the House Deputies, this event had a special significance. They were able to see the trees and plants they had helped to plant during last year’s volunteering day, and it was inspiring to witness how much the area had grown and flourished. It was a powerful reminder of the lasting legacy they had created through their efforts.

The event was not only an opportunity for students to give back to the community but also a chance to learn about environmental conservation and the importance of supporting biodiversity. The hard work and enthusiasm shown by our Leyh House volunteers truly embodied the spirit of teamwork and environmental stewardship. We are excited to announce that Leyh House will be working alongside The Parks Trust again in February, continuing our commitment to supporting local conservation efforts and leaving a lasting impact on our community.

A massive well done to all the Leyh students involved – your efforts are making a positive impact on the environment and setting a fantastic example for others to follow!
