Watling Academy Celebrates First-Ever GCSE Results and Opening of Sixth Form
Watling Academy is proud to announce a landmark moment in its journey as an inclusive, thriving educational community: the celebration of a brilliant first ever set of GCSE results, with exceptional achievement and progress at all levels.
This year’s outcomes reflect not only strong academic performance but also the resilience, character, and diverse talents of our students. Of particular note, progress and achievement in Maths, Science and English was excellent, underlining the strength and success of our core subjects and our focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
From top grades to personal bests, every achievement tells a story. Whether students secured a full suite of grade 8s and 9s or overcame personal challenges to reach their goals, we celebrate each journey with equal pride. These results are more than just numbers – they are a testament to the aspirational culture, growth, and support that underpin life at Watling Academy.
Headteacher, Mrs Fry, commented:
“This is a truly special moment for Watling Academy. Our students have shown incredible dedication and perseverance, and their achievements reflect the strength of our school community. We are immensely proud of every single student and the staff who have supported them throughout their journey.”
As we mark this milestone, we also look ahead with excitement to the next chapter: the opening of our Sixth Form in September. A significant majority of our Year 11 students have chosen to continue their educational journey with us, and we are thrilled to welcome them back as pioneers of our post-16 provision.
The new Sixth Form will offer a broad and ambitious curriculum, designed to support diverse aspirations – from university pathways to vocational careers. With brand new, dedicated facilities, expert teaching, and a strong pastoral foundation, Watling Academy Sixth Form is set to become a vibrant hub of learning, leadership, and opportunity, preparing students for the world of work.
“Success is different for everyone,” added Mrs Fry. “Whether our students are returning to the Sixth Form, beginning vocational training, apprenticeships, or exploring new pathways, we celebrate their choices and achievements. Our role is to empower our students – wherever their journey takes them.”
Watling Academy extends heartfelt congratulations to all the students, families, and staff who have contributed to this historic moment. We look forward to building on this success and continuing to nurture a community where every student is valued and inspired to achieve their very best.
