Early Start to Watling Careers Month for Year 10 Students
Careers month will take place in November for the students of Watling Academy. However, on the 8th and 9th of October, Year 10 students at Watling School kicked off activities early with an exciting and interactive event hosted by the Royal Navy. Throughout the day, students participated in various tasks designed to develop essential soft skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. They also engaged in a STEM challenge, working in small groups to design a product that met a specific brief, allowing them to think creatively and collaboratively.
This session not only helped students enhance their employability skills but also introduced them to potential career pathways. They had the chance to meet and speak with professionals from diverse fields, including personal training, a communication expert, a chef and a medic. The feedback from the Royal Navy was overwhelmingly positive, with students representing the school with pride and embodying our core values.
Congratulations to Year 10 on a successful head start to Careers Month!
