Week 1
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we come to the end of our first full week of the new term, I want to say how incredibly proud I am of the start we have made. The school has felt calm, purposeful and positive, and it has been a pleasure to see so many students demonstrating our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Kindness every day.
Our students continue to impress us, and uniform standards have noticeably improved. Thank you for your support in ensuring our young people arrive at school ready to learn and representing our community so positively. There remain a small number of students with uniform issues still to resolve, and where appropriate, Heads of Year will be in touch to offer support and guidance.
A special welcome to all the families joining us this year, particularly those with students in Year 7 and Year 12. We are delighted to have you as part of our school community. This weekly bulletin is where I will share good news, key events and important information, so please look out for it each Friday.
I would also like to recognise the tremendous efforts of our site team and staff following the significant flooding incident we experienced in May 2026. Since then, a great deal of work has taken place to restore affected areas of the building and ensure the very best environment for learning. Thanks to the commitment of everyone involved, we are now in the final stages of these improvements and expect all works to be completed over the coming weeks.
It has been a real pleasure to welcome so many new students into our Sixth Form this year. We have enrolled almost 200 students into Year 12, reflecting the strong reputation our school continues to build. There is already a wonderful buzz around the Sixth Form Centre, with students embracing new opportunities and making a very positive start to their studies. We extend a very warm welcome to all of our new students and their families as they join the Watling family.

School Photos
On Tuesday next week, we will be taking school photographs for students in Years 7-12. We will be on hand throughout the day to assist students and I would ask for your support to ensure that, as every day, they come to school in correct uniform. Year 12 should attend dressed appropriately with adherence to the Sixth Form dress code.
