Week 11

This week brought snowy weather and vibrant activity at Watling Academy, including a Girls in STEM event, Year 11 fieldwork, impressive culinary assessments, and collaborative PE moderation. The Sixth Form unveiled its new logo, highlighting its role in excellence and mentorship. Preparations are ongoing for the Sixth Form Open Evening on December 5th and a FoWA Quiz and Curry Night. Week 10

This week at Watling Academy included a poignant Remembrance Day silence marked by a moving performance of The Last Post, exciting activities like Year 8’s trip to Whipsnade Zoo and a careers-focused enrichment day, key staff appointments to support the school’s rapid growth, and preparations for Year 10 work experience placements. Celebrating student achievements, house points leaders were recognized for exemplifying the school’s values of Respect, Responsibility, and Kindness.

Week 09

Welcome back! As we head into a busy six weeks, highlights include the Sixth Form trial day, showcasing plans for Year 12s in 2025, and Year 11s’ Modern Foreign Language mock exams. A new meeting pod donated by Allianz will support independent learning, especially for future Sixth Formers. Sports resumed with impressive wins for the Year 8 and Year 9 Girls’ football teams. We remain focused on student progress, attendance, and road safety during the darker winter evenings. Thank you for your continued support!
